Independent shops represent you against insurance companies to fix your car properly. We are free to work on any vehicle we choose. Additionally, we like working with any insurance company and we guarantee the vehicle to pre-loss condition. We fix cars according to the manufacturers, thereby following OEM procedures. Your insurance company does not own a body shop and cannot tell you where to have your car fixed as there are “right to repair” laws.
On the other hand, preferred shops work for insurance companies to fix cars at the cheapest rate. This results in lesser quality and subpar durability. They cannot directly help you when you’re in an adverse circumstance related to the car repair.
